Fundamentals of Engineering Handbook

For all that didnt get the email, I'll post it here for a wider circulation. --- Ok, Here is the link to the book of engineering everything. Its everything you would ever need to do any engineering degree that you were somehow inclined to take. It would have saved me a lot of misery if I had of obtained this when I was starting out. Or someone could have hit me with it and knocked some sense into me and I'd have gone and done something else. But then I wouldn't have had the opportunity to spend so much time with you all and in that wonderful building. <http://www.ncees.org/exams/study_materials/fe_handbook/index.php> Click on "accept" or "free" button or whatever it was, then you can download the whole thing at once or by section. Note that "sample" is used as a euphemism for full. Its got it all. Some discrepancy between size stated and actual size of file however. Turns out they did have it on their website, which is lucky for some of you, the original source I had was an anarchy site. Trying to bring down the US government. Clearly not doing a very good job of it. But handy if you want information on conspiracies, homemade explosives and the manufacture of illicit drugs. Actually, I think they also had some Noam Chomsky and Aldous Huxley stuff too, which is pretty cool in retrospect. This is probably the point where I digress and throw in some T.S. Eliot (yes, there is only one "l" in his name), but I shant. I will however put in a piece from Dante's Inferno that begins Eliot's The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock.

S'io credesse che mia risposta fosse A persona che mai tornasse al mondo Questa fiamma staria sensa piu scosse. Ma perciocche giammai di questo fondo Non torno vivo alcun, s'i'odo il vero Sensa tema d'infamia ti rispondo. Which comes to;

If I believed that my answer would be
To someone who would ever return to earth,
This flame would move no more,
But because no one from this gulf
Has ever returned alive, if what I hear is true,
I can reply with no fear of infamy.

Anyway, not that any of you would probably read it but :Link: to the T.S. Eliot piece in full. Whilst on Dante, perhaps I should have entitled this email "Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate."

-Nick
