Is climate change a bad thing?

As far as winter goes, this one has been pretty fine. What with all the media attention on slowing or halting climate change, it seems as if it needs a champion. Why take the benchmark against which to measure change as of the climate we have now, or a few years ago? Why dont we instead see what we need to do to level off after we have assured ourselves of an extra 4 or 5 degrees of a winter. If that means leaving all the lights on at night, do it. Make sacrifices such as eating more meat. Travel more, and by aeroplane, thats putting the jet exhaust directly into the upper atmosphere where it is needed. And the extra particles in the air help make for stunning sunsets. Further, it encourages species evolution. All those winter animals you never see because you are inside, and they are sleeping in a hole for the winter anyway, well let them sleep. Gives the summer animals a chance to quietly move in on what was boring terrain in the first place. And these exciting and more numerous summer fauna will have to adapt a little of course, but there is a lot more flexibility for them to choose new features. Think more wings and less fur. Dont tell me that evolving traits takes thousands of years, thats just silly. Look at all the boutique species of dogs, miniture horses, and the decline in average size of commercial fish stocks. Keeping the big fish and throwing the little fish back, clearly over only a couple of generations the large fish and their genes are gone. A whole species can be markedly changed in a couple of years. The thing about arguing with yourself is that there isnt anyone to interrupt you. Its the blind leading. Just leading. Which is why you should leave your lights on at night so you dont stub your toe. See, other benefits to warmer winters. As this doesnt seem to be going anywhere, ill whack in something to distract you whilst I slip away. Kids and their toys...
