Like a deer in headlights...

Us. Humans. We are watching the approach of something thats going to change our lives profoundly, but we really cant get out of the way because the danger isnt implicit. What am I talking about? Bird Flu. If, as it is seeming more and more likely is the case, the virus becomes easily passed human-to-human, we're in trouble. I'd almost go as far as to use the expletive 'fucked' in place of 'trouble' but that is a little common and I'd warrant the situation requires something a little more exotic on the whole, only I cant think of one. What did it have initially, I think an 85% mortality rate, and a two week incubation period, now how far could it possibly penetrate into todays modern jetset world... So the mortality rate probably has dropped due to early stage diagnosis, but you cant vaccinate against a virus when you dont know what it looks like. And as yet we dont know what will be the form it takes that will allow it to spread with ease, at least as far as I have heard, but I am behind in my reading. What should be do about it? If it comes it comes, I think this is an excuse to party more.
